Clayton Center offers services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Eligibility is determined by a diagnosis of an intellectual disability before the age of 18 or a developmental disability of a neurologically disabling condition, including epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and autism, prior to the age of 22. Faith Open Door Community Center Reach Development is a program that was created for disadvantaged youth ages 16-24 to work toward their GED or high school diploma while learning job skills (plumbing, electrical, welding, painting, and drywall). The youth serve their neighborhoods by building or rehabilitating affordable housing for modeless or low-income people, or community or commercial facilities that will enhance the social, economic, or environmental viability of the local community. Hearts to Nourish Hope provides high quality programs to identify and develop the internal resources of youth aged 16-24 in Clayton, Fayette and Gwinnett Counties who have been suspended or expelled from school. The program brings together the school system and the juvenile court to offer suspended and expelled youth the opportunity to participate in art, music, theater, martial arts and tutoring.
